Adriano de Jesús Espaillat Rodríguez is a Dominican-American politician who has served as the U.S. representative for New York's 13th congressional district since 2017. He is the chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, as well as the first Dominican-American and first formerly undocumented immigrant to serve in Congress. Previously, he served in the New York State Senate from 2011 to 2016 and in the New York State Assembly from 1997 to 2010; he is the first Dominican-born American elected to a state house in the United States. He is a member of the Democratic Party.
